Which boot style is right for you?
Posted on April 5, 2016
With all the variety of boots available, it can be hard to decide which pair is right for you! The best way to start is to think about what you’ll need the boots for. Are you looking for your first pair of boots, or do you have a collection that you want to round out? Do you want an attractive, sturdy pair to wear every day or a special pair for an event?
Once you know what niche your boots will fill, you can move on to the fun part! You can browse online to find styles you like, or simply walk into a store and see which boots catch your eye.
There are 3 things to consider when purchasing a new pair of boots.
1. Toe Style
There are four main types of toe styles. Each style is best suited for a certain wearer and situation.
Wide Square Toe: Very popular for men, this style will likely remain popular for many years to come. It’s a fairly casual toe style.
Round Toe: This traditional style is a classic for both men and women.
Snip Toe: This style can cover dressy and casual situations. This is a versatile favorite for many women.
Pointed Toe: This is another style that’s very popular among women, and it’s the easiest to dress up.
2. Height
When thinking about heel hight, decide if you want a taller western heel or a flatter walking heel. The height of the boot itself is a good consideration as well—it might help to try on different boot heights to see what works best with your frame.
Another question to ask yourself is what you’ll be wearing the boots with. Do you want to wear them under jeans or slacks, with skirts, or with leggings tucked in?
3. Color
To decide what color (or colors!) your new boot should be, think about which colors you typically wear. Are you looking for everyday boots or a fun pair, or possibly one for a special occasion? Don’t forget, we can custom-dye boots to match a color for you.
