Your custom boots should be handcrafted

handmade leather - Stock ImageYou may already know that we are proud to say our boots are made in the USA. Our boots are handcrafted and assembled from start to finish in Mercedes, Texas. Every part of the process, from cutting the leather to stitching it together, happens in Mercedes.

Our factory employs Americans using sewing machines—instead of having a high-tech assembly line of boot-assembling machines, we trust the expertise of our workers. The Anderson Bean and Rios of Mercedes brands are family owned.

While this is great, what does it do for you, the customer?

One of the things we love about our boot-making process is that it allows you to have your boots customized as much as you’d like.

Boots used to be made, handcrafted, for one specific person. It’s an old-school practice, but we think it’s important. Sure, we sell a lot of non-custom boots, but we pride ourselves on being somewhere people can come with their ideas for their boots, and on making those ideas happen.

The leather on our boots is cut by hand. The sole and topstitching are done by a real person, running a sewing machine, making sure that each boot is carefully put together. Handcrafting our boots allows us to offer a level of customization to our customers that is often no longer available.

Do you have special size requirements for the height of the boot? Maybe you need a tighter or looser calf than is typically found in stores. We’d be happy to discuss your options for a boot that fits you, personally.

Are you looking for boots with your initials on them? Want to custom-dye boots for your bridesmaids? We can talk about dyeing your boots or about stitching your name, an anniversary, or something else significant, onto your boots so they are uniquely yours.

If you’re looking for custom boots, handcrafted is the way to go. Feel free to talk to us in-store to discuss what you’re looking for. When you make a decision, you can feel confident that someone in Mercedes, Texas, will be handcrafting your boots, and you’ll be able to pick them up from our store when it’s complete.
